“#Power Trip<\/a>\u2019s Riley Gale Cause of Death Announced<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Riley Gale, frontman for Texas thrash metal band Power Trip, died last August at the age of 34. Now, Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> reports that Gale died from the toxic effects of fentanyl. The Dallas County Medical Examiner\u2019s office confirmed the cause of death to RS<\/em>, stating that the manner of death was ruled as accidental. Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Gale, as well as Dallas County\u2019s Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science<\/a>s for further information.<\/p>\n

Gale\u2019s death was confirmed by his bandmates \u00a0in a statement<\/a> posted on August 25 (Gale died the night before). \u201cRiley was a friend, a brother, a son,\u201d they wrote. \u201cRiley was both a larger than life rock star and a humble and giving friend. He touched so many lives through his lyrics and through his huge heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the news<\/a> of Gale\u2019s death, numerous artists shared tributes to the frontman, including Fucked Up, Touch\u00e9 Amor\u00e9, Code Orange, Anthrax, Uniform, Coheed and Cambria, Geoff Rickley, and more. Last October, organizers in Dallas revealed plans for the forthcoming Riley Gale Library at the Dallas Hope Center<\/a>\u2014the city\u2019s sole shelter for LGBTQ+ youth.<\/p>\n
