The 50-year-old MC had been gearing up to release his first album since getting out of prison and was seemingly on a healthy path. But according to reports, he\u2019d slipped up and suffered a drug overdose, which then triggered a catastrophic heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>With the help of longtime producer Swizz Beatz and Def Jam Recordings, DMX\u2019s highly anticipated album will see the light of day.<\/p>\n<p>Titled <em>Exodus,<\/em> the 13-track project features guest vocals from Nas, JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, Usher and U2\u2019s Bono, among others. On Tuesday (May 25), fans got a taste of <em>Exodus<\/em> in the form of \u201cHood Blues\u201d with contributions from Griselda\u2019s Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With Westside Gunn\u2019s unmistakable rhyming style kicking of the track, DMX\u2019s signature grunts, growls and barks are littered throughout the track as Conway and Benny round out the cut. DMX closes out the record with lyrics such as \u201cGrew up at the dark side, apartheid\/Where goin\u2019 against the grain\u2019ll get you kidn<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ed and hogtied\/X the illest n-gga, realest n-gga\/Never been scared, I\u2019m a fearless n-gga.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hood Blues\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FqEVUqqKYx8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Exodus<\/em> is expected to arrive on Friday (May 28) and will have the important task of continuing DMX\u2019s hard-won legacy. During a listening party for the album earlier this month, Swizz Beatz said he was just going to drop the entire project in one swoop but evidently changed his mind.<\/p>\n<p>The Verzuz co-founder also talked about how valuable the album was to DMX.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis project meant a lot to him,\u201d Swizz shared with <em>HipHopDX<\/em> on May 13. \u201cIt was something he showed up to do and couldn\u2019t wait for people to hear. It was a project he wanted the world to hear. We didn\u2019t want to wait too long because he didn\u2019t want to wait too long. The album\u2019s name is <em>Exodus,<\/em> which he has across his neck and is on the album cover. It\u2019s also his youngest son\u2019s name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Apple Music\u2019s Zane Lowe this week, Swizz revealed the Snoop Dogg and DMX Verzuz battle is really what helped the project come to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll his songs go to number one [following Verzuz],\u201d he said. \u201cHe seen everything chart again. I showed him all of it. Then he was just pumped up. He was like the only thing I don\u2019t like about my Verzuz is I wasn\u2019t able to do something new. I want to give all of these people that\u2019s looking at me something new im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely.
