Amazon is resuming construction of a new facility in Windsor, Connecticut, after halting operations there last week when the seventh case of a \u201crope which could be interpreted as a noose\u201d was found at the site.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe site has reopened and we are committed to working with the Town and Windsor Police Department, as well as our development partners, to hold the perpetrators accountable and ensure that all members of our community feel valued, respected and safe,\u201d Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHate, racism or discrimination have no place in our society and are certainly not tolerated in any Amazon workplace \u2014 whether it be under construction like this one, or fully operational,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Workers at the planned fulfillment center found six app<\/a>arent nooses on the site during the last week of April. The seventh was announced last Thursday.<\/p>\n

Windsor police and the FBI both said they\u2019re investigating.<\/p>\n

Amazon last week raised the reward to $100,000 for information that leads to whoever left the hateful items.<\/p>\n

The local chapter of the NAACP said it\u2019s working with Amazon to address worker concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese forms of hate crimes have had a detrimental stain on the current state of America\u2019s reality and for them to hit so close to home and with such consistency, shows a robust disrespect for the not only human decency but also for our ancestors who lost their lives due to the hate represented within the knots in those ropes,\u201d the civil rights group said in a statement.<\/p>\n
