\n Ghislaine Maxwell moved at least 36 times across the US in the year before her arrest \u2014 and coronavirus mask-wearing may have helped her stay undetected, a report said Sunday.<\/p>\n

The British social<\/a>ite took off from the West Coast and crisscrossed the country \u2014 making stops in Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado \u2014 before ultimately ending up in New Hampshire, where she was busted 10 days ago, The Sun reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cGhislaine has been \u00adconstantly on the move throughout the last year,\u201d a source told the outlet. \u201cShe would stay in properties for a few days or a week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her life on the lam app<\/a>ears to have begun after her pedophile ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, killed himself last August in a Manhattan lockup while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, according to the paper.<\/p>\n

The Sun\u2019s source claimed that between then and her July 2 arrest, Maxwell hopped from home to home, moving at least three times each month.<\/p>\n

While on the run, the accused madam mostly spent her days working out and reading \u2014 including a book on Epstein\u2019s accusers by victims lawyer Bradley Edwards, in which she featured prominently, Vanity Fair previously reported.<\/p>\n

The Sun\u2019s source added that: \u201cShe did go out, but not often.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, with the coronavirus, people were wearing masks \u2014 it made things easier for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials have said they were tracking Maxwell\u2019s movements \u2014 and had recently learned that she moved to a luxury home on a 156-acre estate in Bradford, NH, that she bought in an all-cash deal in December.<\/p>\n

In an initial memo seeking Maxwell\u2019s detention, prosecutors said she was \u201chiding out\u201d in various locations in New England and had made efforts to go undetected, including switching her main phone number, which was registered under the name \u201cG Max.\u201d<\/p>\n

But The Sun\u2019s source said Maxwell moved around to outrun reporters \u2014 not federal authorities \u2014 echoing an argument made by her defense attorneys last week for why she was not a flight risk and should be granted bond.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was never running from the feds,\u201d the source said. \u201cShe was \u00adrunning from journalists and crazy people who wanted to kill her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a serious problem. Her location was on a need-to-know basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maxwell reportedly even hired a professional security firm to keep her safe amid an influx of death threats.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s now being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday on sex-trafficking charges.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
