A pregnant Texas woman was shot dead in her home this week \u2014 but her baby daughter was safely delivered, according to a new report.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Domonique Mellion, 23, was inside her apartment in Baytown when she was struck in the head by a bullet, KHOU reported<\/a>, citing local police.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Authorities initially said it app<\/a>eared Mellion was killed by a stray bullet as the occupants of two vehicles got into a shootout, but now they believe the apartment was targeted, the outlet reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She was airlifted to a hospital, where she couldn\u2019t be saved \u2014 but doctors safely delivered her child, the outlet reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The newborn was taken to Texas Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n

Neighbor Ronni Moore told KHOU she heard several gunshots around 6:30 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably like eight or nine \u2026 there was a lot,\u201d Moore told the station. \u201cIf we had been out here, we, you know, probably would\u2019ve been shot because we usually sit right out here and smoke.\u201d<\/p>\n

Authorities want to question three people of interest in the incident \u2014 Ernest Adams, Jhakeem Monrose and Shai-Keem Thomas, according to the report.<\/p>\n

The incident happened in the same apartment complex where Pamela Turner, 44, was fatally shot in May 2019, moments after she yelled, \u201cI\u2019m pregnant!\u201d while fighting for a cop\u2019s Taser. Turner was not actually pregnant, according to police.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
