Unfortunately, the option isn\u2019t available to everyone yet, not to mention it only supports <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fhelp.fitbit.com%2Farticles%2Fen_US%2FHelp_article%2F2197.htm\">SMS authentication<\/a>, but it\u2019s better than nothing.<\/p>\n<p>With all the location and activity data that something like a Fitbit gathers, it only makes sense to keep this sensitive information as secure as possible.\u00a0After <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/fitbit\/comments\/bm0clx\/suggestion_change_your_fitbit_password_now\/\">plenty<\/a> of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fcommunity.fitbit.com%2Ft5%2FFitbit-com-Dashboard%2FI-can-t-find-the-2FA-2-factor-security-feature%2Ftd-p%2F4374189\">requests<\/a> over the years,\u00a0Fitbit is slowly rolling out a new system you can take advantage of.<\/p>\n<p>Those on Android or iOS will see a new \u201cincrease your security\u201d popup inside the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>, explaining how 2FA works to keep accounts protected. Then, once this new feature rolls out to everyone, you\u2019ll see \u201cTwo Factor Authentication\u201d as an option under the \u201cAccounts Settings\u201d menu.<\/p>\n<p>As we said above, unfortunately, it\u2019s the worst type of two-factor authentication available these days, as the system will send a code to your phone via text message. This is better than no protection at all, but we\u2019ve seen our fair share of ways this system can fail. Basically, we can all agree that a dongle or something more secure would be ideal.<\/p>\n<p>For now, this is your best bet for keeping your Fitbit account and sensitive info private.
