The company is debuting a new label that says \u201cThis page shares misinformation repeatedly\u201d when you like the page.<\/p>\n<p>The firm will link to posts that have been\u00a0debunked by authorized fact-checkers in the pop-up with more information. That\u2019s a pretty good idea for steering\u00a0people away from pages that mislead people. But what if someone\u2019s already liked the page? No warning sign for them?<\/p>\n<p>Facebook\u00a0didn\u2019t detail its criterion to determine what constitutes \u2018repeatedly\u2019 sharing misinformation. We\u2019ve asked the firm for more details, and we\u2019ll update the story if we hear back.<\/p>\n<p>The social networking giant will also punish individual accounts that are serial\u00a0<span>misinformation sharers,<\/span> by \u201cde-ranking\u201d them.
