“#How to Read Articles Out Loud with the Google App<\/a> on iPhone”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Google app on your iPhone or iPad has a feature that can read articles out loud. It\u2019s easy to use and can be helpful during times when you just don\u2019t want to read. Here\u2019s how it works.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, the \u201cRead Aloud\u201d feature isn\u2019t available for Android smartphones or tablets, unfortunately. It\u2019s also not available for all websites. Your mileage might vary when you\u2019re trying to use it with your favorite sites.<\/p>\n

First, open the Google app on your iPhone<\/a> or iPad<\/a>. You will be greeted by the \u201cDiscover\u201d feed underneath the Search bar. These are the articles and news<\/a> stories that can be read aloud.<\/p>\n

Scroll through the Discover feed and select an article to have read aloud.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

If the website supports the Read Aloud feature, you\u2019ll see an icon of a person speaking in the top-right corner. Select it.<\/p>\n

\"Tap<\/p>\n

A pop-up message will appear. From it, you can choose to \u201cListen Now,\u201d \u201cAdd to Queue,\u201d or \u201cCancel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Read<\/p>\n

If you select \u201cListen Now,\u201d a media<\/a> player will appear at the bottom of your screen, and the article will begin playing aloud. You have the ability to fast forward, play\/pause, rewind, AirPlay, and navigate through the queue (more on that below). Tap the three-dot icon for more options.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s where you can adjust the reading speed, choose the reading voice, and share the article with others.<\/p>\n

\"Read<\/p>\n

If you select \u201cAdd to Queue\u201d from the pop-up, the article will be added to a list. Similar to a podcast player, the articles will be read aloud in order.<\/p>\n

\"Articles<\/p>\n

To access the Read Aloud player and queue at any time, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the Home tab.<\/p>\n

\"Tap<\/p>\n

Then, select \u201cRead Aloud\u201d from the menu.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

The player and queue will reappear at the bottom of the screen.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

That\u2019s all there is to it! This is a nifty little feature for getting through your Google Discover news stories, especially if you have a hard time reading text on a screen.<\/p>\n
