Education beat: The City DOE\u2019s \u2018Child Soldiers\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

The city\u2019s Department of Education has \u201ca potent cudgel\u201d against those who oppose scrapp<\/a>ing the Specialized High School Admissions Test for its top high schools, reports The Washington Free Beacon\u2019s Aaron Sibarium<\/a>: the student group Teens Take Charge. \u201cWeaponized as child soldiers,\u201d these teens malign and provoke adult critics, who get \u201caccused of attacking kids\u201d if they respond \u2014 much like the Chinese Red Guard, or what Hamas does with human shields, a parent born in China said. Parents suspect DOE uses these kids to promote its anti-test agenda by \u00adencouraging, defending and coordinating with them. Ironically, Asian Americans, who score best on the test, have \u201cthe highest poverty rate,\u201d while the teens against it \u201care often the rich kids who couldn\u2019t ace it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Iconoclast: Why Dems Disdain Homemakers<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cYoung feminists, progressives and [lefty] social<\/a>-media trolls\u201d react \u00adviolently to pro-family ideas and policy proposals, observes Michael Lind at Tablet<\/a>, not least those aimed at letting young moms stay home with kids \u2014 though a majority of US adults believe it\u2019s best for new mothers to work part-time or not at all. \u201cWhy is it that most progressives, who ardently defend choice when it comes to abortion,\u201d prefer one-size-fits-all models for child care, pushing universal daycare and other programs that assume moms should work out of the home? And right now, .\u2009.\u2009. China seems well-positioned to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foreign desk: Crack Down on Dictators<\/strong><\/p>\n

Media Watch: Biased Reporting Breeds Hate<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reporting on the Israel-Gaza conflict \u201cis so relentlessly skewed and committed to the dogma that Israel is an apartheid state and a brutal \u00adaggressor,\u201d Misha Mansoor points out at Spiked<\/a>, that it has empowered anti-Semitism in the West, including social-media comments \u201crabidly hating on the Israelis and the Jews in general<\/a>, with no shame.\u201d Coverage routinely \u201cbrushes aside or says nothing about the avowed murderous intentions of Hamas and its supporters.\u201d Media \u201cneed to stop ignoring\u201d the ugly truth \u201cthat if Hamas had the opportunity, it would wipe out \u00adevery Jew on earth.\u201d <\/p>\n
