No, Trevor Lawrence didn\u2019t intend to go radio silent on the Jacksonville Jaguars during last month\u2019s 2021 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

Speaking to \u201cPro Football Talk PM\u201d<\/a> on Wednesday, this year\u2019s first overall pick addressed the recent revelation from Jaguars brass that they had trouble connecting with Lawrence on draft night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, honestly,\u201d\u00a0Lawrence said about the snafu. \u201cI was sitting there by my phone. Had my Bose headphones in there, just waiting.\u201d<\/p>\n

For months, many anticipated Lawrence to be the Jaguars\u2019 quarterback of the future. When it came time for Jacksonville to make the call, they were directed to Lawrence\u2019s voicemail three times<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Lawrence, who watched the NFL Draft from home in South Carolina with his new wife<\/a>, Marissa Mowry, said \u201cthe service was terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

#Jaguars<\/a> released a video of their Draft night, turns out that because the NFL required them to wait 7 minutes, they took their time to call @Trevorlawrencee<\/a>. Once they tried it went to voicemail\u2026 3 times <\/p>\n

\u201cI live kind of in the woods in South Carolina. That was where my place was and the service was terrible. I guess that\u2019s what it was. People were texting me like, \u2018I didn\u2019t know you hung up on them three times in a row.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018I didn\u2019t even get the calls,\u2019 \u201d Lawrence said.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the Jaguars\u2019 new head coach, Urban Meyer, got in touch with Lawrence and officially welcomed him to Jacksonville, where he\u2019ll be teammates with quarterback-turned-tight end, Tim Tebow.<\/p>\n
