\nIt sure sounds like Pete Davidson<\/strong> is outgrowing his home at Saturday Night Live<\/em>!<\/p>\n

The King Of Staten Island<\/em> star, who has been on the show since 2014, admitted he wasn\u2019t trying to stay at the beloved sketch comedy series<\/a> for too much longer during a candid roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> published on Thursday.<\/p>\n

When asked if he has plans to stay on the show for 18 seasons, like his co-star, Kenan Thompson<\/strong>, Davidson quipped:<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

LOLz, tell us how you really feel, Pete!<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old added:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m surprised I made it to seven. I\u2019m ready to hang up the jersey. Kenan\u2019s like f**kin\u2019 Karl Malone<\/strong> out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

(For those who don\u2019t get the sports reference, we Googled it for you: Karl Malone is a retired basketball player who has app<\/a>arently played for quite a few years. He\u2019s Kenan Thompson of the NBA, if you will, and that\u2019s as far as we got. Okay, anyway\u2026)<\/p>\n

The Staten Island native went on to say he\u2019d love to model his post-SNL<\/em> career after Eddie Murphy<\/strong> and Adam Sandler<\/strong>, sharing:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou get to see a lot of people at SNL<\/i>, and there\u2019s this aura around Eddie Murphy where you\u2019re just like, \u2018Holy sh*t, that\u2019s Eddie Murphy.\u2019 [Adam] Sandler is like that, too. You just can\u2019t believe you\u2019re seeing him in person. I\u2019d like the Eddie Murphy, Sandler career. I like what Sandler did where he\u2019s like, \u2018These are my eight friends, we\u2019re going to do this formula for the next 30 to 50 years.\u2019 He built this entire universe for himself, and he\u2019s in his own lane. That\u2019s the model.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We love that for him!<\/p>\n

Pete noted the way the Happy Gilmore<\/em> star \u201ccarries himself\u201d is also something he admires, adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s so kind to everyone, and you never hear of a Sandler issue \u2014 there\u2019s never, like, a Sandler-gate. Any time you see that guy\u2019s face, it\u2019s associated with smiles and good vibes. That\u2019s the thing I\u2019m trying to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Awww, he just wants to make people feel good. That\u2019s a great path to follow, if you ask us!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear how many seasons Pete has left in him, but the star also seemingly hinted at an exit during SNL<\/em>\u2019s latest Weekend Update<\/em>. While speaking to Colin Jost<\/strong> about the crazy past year, the comedia<\/a>n said the coronavirus pandemic has taught him that \u201cwe never really know what the future holds,\u201d adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s also taught me to be grateful. I\u2019m very grateful to be here and it\u2019s been an honor to grow up in front of you guys. So thanks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
