2002\u2019s Mobile Suit Gundam Seed<\/em> will get a sequel movie as part of a new project called GUNDAM SEED PROJECT ignited<\/em>, which is meant to celebrate the series<\/a>\u2019 20th anniversary in 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most details about the movie are not yet available, but it is in production with Gundam Seed<\/em> director Mitsuo Fukuda involved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The project will also include the \u201cGUNDAM docks at Shanghai\u201d event, a new game<\/a>, and a manga<\/a>-form side story called Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse<\/em>\u00a0is set between the events of Gundam Seed <\/em>and its sequel series Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny<\/em> and follows a squad called ODR (pronounced as \u201corder\u201d). It will launch in July in Gundam Ace in Japan, and will also be available worldwide via Gundam.info.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Maaster Grade figure of the upcoming side story\u2019s Eclipse Gundam<\/a>, which can transform between Mobile Suit and Mobile Armor forms, will release in August.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed\u00a0<\/em>aired from 2002 to 2003, while\u00a0Gundam Seed Destiny<\/em> aired from 2004 to 2005. The series also inspired compilation movies, OVAs and manga. It is the first Gundam anime to be set in the Cosmic Era timeline.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

On April 28, a life-sized 18.03m Freedom Gundam (a mobile suit featured in both Gundam Seed<\/em> and Gundam Seed Destiny<\/em>) was unveiled in Shanghai following a prayer ceremony and the installation of its head on April 26. It is the first such statue to be placed overseas. An opening ceremony was livestreamed on May 28 at 6PM JST on Bilibili with singer Takanori Nishikawa\/TM.Revolution (who performed several songs for Gundam Seed<\/em> and Gundam Seed Destiny<\/em>) and actor Yin Zheng as guests.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
