“#Why Entourage Star Adrian Grenier Walked Away From Hollywood & Moved To Texas

\nIt\u2019s hard when you think of\u00a0Adrian Grenier<\/strong> not to think of Vincent Chase, his movie star character from\u00a0Entourage<\/em>, upgrading mansions and being driven to premieres by his crew.<\/p>\n

But whatever part of Adrian\u2019s IRL lifestyle resembled that is gone now. It\u2019s been a decade since the\u00a0HBO<\/strong> hit ended, and in that time acting has taken more and more of a backseat for him. And last year he moved away from Hollywood completely to become\u2026 wait for it\u2026 a farmer.<\/p>\n

For real! While he doesn\u2019t use that term yet, calling himself an \u201capp<\/a>rentice\u201d for now, his time is spent farming in his new home of Bastrop, Texas, population 8,776. (For reference, Los Angeles is rapidly approaching 4 MILLION people!)<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0Austin Life<\/em> magazine about his big move, he explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cI bought a place in Austin five years ago, and a year ago I decided to move here permanently. I had friends here, I ran a business here, and liked the pace. Austin is cosmopolitan without being snooty; it\u2019s earthy. People are smart and successful but they don\u2019t flaunt it. There is nothing to prove, people accept you and it felt good right away.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But he was a movie star! Even if he was settled in that more relaxed, B-list arena of starring in indies and\u00a0Hallmark<\/strong> films, how can you just give that up?<\/p>\n

Well, for Adrian it wasn\u2019t about the life he was leaving, it was about the life he needed. He said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been doing environmental work for the last 20 years, I\u2019ve started organizations and run non-profits, all designed to tell people to live more in line with nature \u2014 and yet, I wasn\u2019t living that way. In my mind it was an ideal, but it wasn\u2019t in my daily experience. I was still living everywhere, in the process of accumulating, getting things and stuff, fancying myself a mini mogul of anything and everything.\u00a0In many ways, I reached the apex of that promise \u2014 if you work hard, you become famous, then you make a lot of money\u2026 but it was lackluster at the top.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While he says being a debauch star was actually \u201ca f**k load of fun\u201d while it lasted, his perspective has changed and he\u2019s now \u201ctotally at peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

He told the magazine he knew he \u201cwanted a partner\u201d to share his new life with, so he asked his girlfriend, acupuncture student Jordan Roemmele<\/strong> to come with him:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a long history, and I said, \u2018I\u2019m in love, and if you are too, I want to build something together.\u2019 Thankfully she was interested. We negotiated terms of the heart and decided we were going to get some land.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bastrop, says Adrian, is far enough outside of Austin to feel like being in nature \u2014 but close enough she can still go to school.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Devil Wears Prada<\/em> actor really believes he has found true happiness as he \u201cMarie Kondo\u2019d\u201d his life.<\/p>\n

Asked if he still will do any acting at all, the 44-year-old confirmed:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo. And I don\u2019t miss anything about that world.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He doesn\u2019t even get jealous of the fun stars are having on social media<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, if you go on Instagram long enough, you\u2019re going to find some FOMO somewhere, but everyone is just pretending they\u2019re living their best life. Ultimately, I know that I am, so I don\u2019t even tell anybody about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
