The NYPD has lost another detective to coronavirus.<\/p>\n

Det. Stanley Dash, a veteran detective assigned to the 6th Precinct Squad in the West Village, died Saturday from COVID-19, Commissioner Dermot Shea announced on Twitter<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Dash was a member of the force for 21 years.<\/p>\n

For decades, \u201cDetective Stanley Dash faithfully served the people of NYC & the NYPD,\u201d Shea tweeted.<\/a> \u201cThis morning, we tragically lost him to complications from #COVID19<\/a>. Our NYPD family mourns today as we keep Stanley, his family, friends & colleagues in our prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detectives\u2019 Endowment Association President Paul DiGiacomo said Dash\u2019s service extended to his fellow detectives, as a former union delegate.<\/p>\n

\u201cA deeply caring man, he was there to help everyone,\u201d DiGiacomo said. \u201cOur prayers are with his wife and children who we vow to always support.\u201d<\/p>\n

More than 55 officers and civilian NYPD have died of COVID-19.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
