Google, Facebook, and Whats<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/industry\/media\/facebook-google-whatsapp-start-complying-with-india-s-new-it-rules-in-part-11622380151655.html\">have already complied<\/a> with India\u2019s new intermediary rules. However, the microblogging platform is yet to do that.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, the\u00a0Delhi high court directed Twitter to comply with these rules within three weeks. Notably, Twitter had asked the government of India for at least a three-month extension to implement the necessary steps.<\/p>\n<p><i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">[Read:\u00a0<\/i><i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">This dude drove an EV from the Netherlands to New Zealand \u2014 here are his 3 top road <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> tips<\/i><i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">]<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Lawyer Amit<span>\u00a0Acharya had <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/india\/appointed-grievance-officer-as-per-new-it-rules-twitter-tells-delhi-high-court-7337849\/\">filed the petition against the social network last week<\/a> to register a grievance against \u201cdefamatory, false and untrue\u201d tweets of some users. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The petition stated that Twitter doesn\u2019t have a grievance officer based in India,, which is against the country\u2019s IT rules.\u00a0<\/span>However, as per Twitter, it has recently appointed <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/help.twitter.com\/en\/rules-and-policies\/report-twitter-abuse-india\">an interim local grievance officer in India<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to India\u2019s new IT rules, significant social media intermediaries \u2014 any platform with more than 5 million users \u2014 have to appoint a nodal officer, a compliance officer, and a\u00a0<span>grievance officer in India. Plus, they must publish compliance reports regarding complaints they receive every six months.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Twitter has been in a tussle with the Indian government multiple times this year. In February, it was caught up in an issue of first blocking and then unlocking of tweets related to the long-running farmers\u2019 protest by prominent accounts.
