Despite stock limitations, Sony\u2019s PlayStation 5 has, so far, emerged as the best-selling console of 2021 in the UK.<\/p>\n

The PS5 is now the leading console \u201cwith a healthy lead over Nintendo Switch\u201d. The report comes from Christopher Dring, Head of Game<\/a>sIndustry.biz.
\n <\/p>\n

He writes<\/a>, \u201cStock levels improved greatly for PS5 and Xbox Series<\/a> X\/S in the UK in May. Both platforms did better last month compared with April. PS5 now the no.1 console for the year, with a healthy lead over Nintendo Switch. Xbox [is] also catching up.\u201d<\/p>\n

The last big PS5 drop in the UK was on May 19, when Amazon.co.uk restocked the console. Both the Standard and Digital editions were live, the former going live first.<\/p>\n

Since its worldwide release on November 12, the PlayStation 5 has become the world\u2019s most-wanted consumer product (in a sense). Stock issues still prevail with hundreds and thousands of people still looking out for a chance to purchase the console at retail price.<\/p>\n
