“#Loki MCU Ramifications Will Be “Wide-Reaching,” Writer Says \u2013 \/Film<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Loki<\/em><\/strong> writer\u00a0Michael Waldron<\/strong> has been burdened with glorious purpose \u2014 and it\u2019s to tease how the upcoming Disney+ series<\/a> may or may not be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe without giving too much away. To his credit, he does a good job, revealing that\u00a0Loki<\/em> will have \u201cwide-reaching\u201d ramifications on the MCU at large, though remaining coy on whether those effects would reach\u00a0Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/em><\/strong>, on which Waldron is also a writer.<\/p>\n

What kind of\u00a0Loki<\/em> MCU connections can we expect? Well, we can expect cameos from alternate versions of familiar Marvel characters, maybe. Consequences, probably. What kind of consequences? Waldron isn\u2019t about to tell us just yet.
\nIn a recent interview with\u00a0Total Film (via GamesRadar)<\/a>, Waldron is asked how the upcoming Disney+ series,\u00a0Loki<\/em>, upon which he serves as head writer, might connect to another MCU project he\u2019s attached to,\u00a0Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat would just be crazy conjecture,\u201d Waldron said, showing off the results of his Marvel media<\/a> training. But, he continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of these stories, in their own way, are interconnected and have ramifications. I think that certainly, our aim with the \u2018Loki\u2019 series was for it to have wide-reaching ramifications across the MCU moving forward. So, you know, was I having to clean up some of the messes that I made [with \u2018Loki\u2019]? Maybe so.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cCleaning up some of the messes\u201d in\u00a0Doctor Strange 2<\/em> that were made in\u00a0Loki<\/em> is interesting, as it suggests that Loki\u2019s timeline-hopping missions on behalf of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) could earn the attention of the Sorcerer Supreme. Perhaps where Loki deals with the bureaucratic side of the TVA, Doctor Strange might handle the three space lizards that run it? That\u2019s probably the best guess we can get out of this very cagey response from Waldron.<\/p>\n

Loki<\/i>\u00a0is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on June 9, 2021<\/strong>.\u00a0Tom Hiddleston<\/strong> reprises his role as the God of Mischief, while\u00a0Sophia Di Martino<\/strong>,\u00a0Owen Wilson<\/strong>,\u00a0Richard E. Grant<\/strong>,\u00a0Sasha Lane<\/strong>, and\u00a0Gugu Mbatha-Raw<\/strong>\u00a0round out the cast.\u00a0Kate Herron<\/strong>\u00a0(Sex Education<\/em>) is\u00a0directing\u00a0the show, which follows the version of the God of Mischief who stole the Tesseract during the events of\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/a><\/em>\u00a0as he subsequently travel<\/a>s to different time periods to evade capture and wreak his particular brand of havoc.<\/p>\n

Marvel Studios\u2019 Loki features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother\u2019s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
