{"id":265466,"date":"2021-06-03T02:05:36","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T23:05:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/activist-engine-no-1-wins-third-seat-on-exxon-board\/"},"modified":"2021-06-03T02:05:36","modified_gmt":"2021-06-02T23:05:36","slug":"activist-engine-no-1-wins-third-seat-on-exxon-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/activist-engine-no-1-wins-third-seat-on-exxon-board\/","title":{"rendered":"#Activist Engine No. 1 wins third seat on Exxon board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Activist Engine No. 1 wins third seat on Exxon board<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>ExxonMobil shareholders elected a third director nominated by hedge fund Engine No. 1 to the oil company\u2019s board, the company said on Wednesday, extending the new firm\u2019s upset victory at one of America\u2019s most iconic corporations.<\/p>\n<p>The election was a shock to an energy industry struggling to address growing investor concerns about global warming and a warning to\u00a0Exxon\u00a0managers that years of weak returns were no longer acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>Engine No. 1 nominee Alexander Karsner, a strategist at Google owner Alphabet, won the fund\u2019s third seat, according to a regulatory filing.\u00a0Exxon\u00a0board member and former Caterpillar CEO Douglas Oberhelman also was elected, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to working with all of our directors to build on the progress we\u2019ve made to grow long-term shareholder value and succeed in a lower-carbon future,\u201d said\u00a0Exxon\u00a0Chief Executive Darren Woods in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Woods, who campaigned against the challenger, was re-elected by 94.1 percent, a larger margin than a year ago.
