The name \u2014 which has become a pejorative term for an entitled or racist white woman\u2014 plunged in popularity over the past year, according to new Social<\/a> Security Administration data.<\/p>\n

Karen fell 171 spots on a list of most common newborn baby names for girls from number 660 to 831, according to figures first reported by the Huffington Post.<\/a><\/p>\n

In total, only 325 girls were named Karen in the US last year compared to 439 in 2019,\u00a0 according to the data.<\/p>\n

The trend comes after the high-profile story of \u201cCentral Park Karen\u201d \u2014 who went viral after\u00a0calling the police on a black birdwatcher \u2014 broke last summer. <\/p>\n

The saga and other \u201cKaren\u201d-centric stories popularized the slang term, which can also be used to describe a woman who complains or uses her privileged to be a jerk.<\/p>\n

The names Katrina and Isis also\u00a0fell off the top 1,000 ranking list of baby names last year, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the name Kobe spiked in popularity by 175 percent after the death of NBA star Kobe Bryant, according to babycenter.com, which provides information on pregnancy and birth.<\/p>\n

The name Kamala grew in popularity by 104 percent after Vice President Kamala Harris was elected in November, according to the site.<\/p>\n
