The pint-sized assassin will kill again. Amazon Studios announced that it has ordered\u00a0Hanna<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0season 3, renewing the action thriller series<\/a> less than two weeks after its second season debuted on Prime Video.<\/p>\n

Amazon is renewing\u00a0Hanna<\/em> for a third season, closely following the well-received second season of the action thriller series\u00a0written and executive produced by David\u00a0Farr\u00a0(The Night Manager<\/i>) and based on the 2011 Saoirse Ronan film directed by Joe Wright.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m absolutely thrilled to be able to give\u00a0Hanna<\/i>\u00a0a third season,\u201d Farr said in a statement accompanying the renewal, teasing details about where season 3 will take everyone\u2019s favorite diminutive assassin played by Esm\u00e9 Creed-Miles:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we set out on this journey, I had in my mind a drama that would excavate Hanna\u2019s past, challenge her in entirely new ways and answer the question: can she ever belong? I am truly grateful to Amazon and NBCU that we are able to continue that vision. I am also deeply indebted to Esm\u00e9 Creed-Miles and to Mireille Enos for their continuing commitment and enormous talent as we take Hanna and Marissa into new and unexplored terrain. It\u2019s going to be an exciting third act.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cDavid continues to deliver a series that\u2019s elevated and action-packed, with twists you won\u2019t see coming and characters you really care about,\u201d added Vernon Sanders, co-head of television at Amazon Studios. \u201cWe\u2019re very excited to team with NBCUniversal to bring our Prime Video customers around the world another season of adventure with\u00a0Hanna.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Farr will write season 3 of\u00a0Hanna<\/em>, as he did the first season and the majority of the second season. Farr also serves as executive producer alongside Tom Coan for NBCUniversal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group, and\u00a0Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements, alongside\u00a0Scott Nemes.<\/p>\n

Hanna<\/em> continues the streak of successful film to TV adaptations, like FX\u2019s award-winning\u00a0Fargo<\/em> and\u00a0What We Do in the Shadows<\/em>. Though\u00a0Hanna<\/em> is a bit of an outlier, as the 2011 film upon which it\u2019s based didn\u2019t leave much of a mark, enjoying only moderate success and so-so reviews. However, the series seems to long have left the film behind, taking the premise of a fugitive teen assassin and running with it.<\/p>\n

Hanna<\/em> season 2 is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video. No release date has yet been set for season 3.<\/p>\n

HANNA<\/i>\u00a0follows the journey of an extraordinary young woman, played by Esm\u00e9 Creed-Miles, as she evades the relentless pursuit of a sinister government agency and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. Following her discovery at the end of Season One, Hanna (Creed-Miles) now knows she is not the only young woman with\u00a0unparalleled\u00a0skill and elite training to emerge out of the Utrax program. In Season Two, she risks her freedom to rescue her friend Clara (Yasmin Monet Prince) from the clutches of the Utrax program at their new facility, The Meadows, run by John Carmichael (Dermot Mulroney) and his second in command, Leo Garner (Anthony Welsh). Hanna finds help in the unlikely form of her previous nemesis, CIA agent Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos) who must protect both herself and Hanna from the ruthless organization she once trusted. Yet as Hanna delves deeper into the elusive world of The Meadows and meets others like herself, including Sandy (\u00c1ine Rose Daly) and Jules (Gianna Kiehl), she begins to question her role in the larger context of Utrax\u2019s assassin program and ultimately, where she truly belongs.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
