The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> broke a day before the city played host to the world\u2019s largest Bitcoin conference, Bitcoin 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Miami Mayor Francis Suarez made the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/crypto-company-blockchaincom-moves-us-headquarters-to-miami-301304969.html\">announcement<\/a> at City Hall with Blockchain.com CEO Peter Smith. He explained that not only will the move boost local employment but it will also be an investment in the local <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, engineering, and maths (STEM) community via educational programming. Suaraz said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Blockchain.com&#8217;s arrival in Miami perfectly encapsulates what the Miami  Movement is all about \u2014 leveraging Miami&#8217;s talent against the world&#8217;s top companies in order to build towards our goal of becoming a Miami that lasts forever and a Miami that works for everyone.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Blockchain.com cited a key driver of the move was \u201cthe city\u2019s welcoming regulatory environment serving as a hotbed of crypto innovation.\u201d The firm&#8217;s global headquarters will still be based in Londonn, however, Miami will stand as its U.S. HQ.\u00a0 Blockchain.com also has offices in San Francisco which will remain.<\/p>\n<p>Blockchain.com, with a $5 billion post-money valuation, is arguably the biggest blockchain-related scalp claimed by Miami since Mayor Suarez began his intense crypto push. The company services 32 million users across 200 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last year, Suarez has made it clear that he wants to landmark Miami as the country\u2019s crypto center. Crypto finance firm XBTO Group purchased a new Miami office in April, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/therealdeal.com\/miami\/2021\/04\/14\/guggenheim-c-suite-exec-to-relocate-to-miami-after-buying-penthouses-at-condo-tower\/\">Scott Minerd<\/a> from global investment firm Guggenheim Partners and Peter Thiel associate Keith Rabois have also bought property here. FTX crypto exchange secured a 19-year deal for naming rights to the Miami Heat arena, and Borderless Capital announced a $25 million fund for Miami-based crypto businesses on June 2.<\/p>\n<p>Suarez has also held meetings with the Winklevoss twins, Elon Musk, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> CEO Jack Dorsey, and Google CEO Eric Schmidt in an effort to convince them of Miami\u2019s benefits. <\/p>\n<p>Suarez has demonstrated a personal conviction as well, publicly revealing that he owns Bitcoin and Ethereum, and is planning on \u201cbuying the dip\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;I own <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#bitcoin<\/a> and I own <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ethereum?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ethereum<\/a>,&#8221; says <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FrancisSuarez?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@FrancisSuarez<\/a>. &#8220;I haven&#8217;t bought the dip yet but I&#8217;m planning to.
