An unofficial part of the conference <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/b.tc\/conference\/whale-day-agenda\">kicked off<\/a> Thursday with a \u201cWhale Day\u201d featuring Galaxy CEO Mike Novogratz and BitGO CEO Mike Belshe.<\/p>\n<p>The event is positioned to be something \u201cmore like a music festival,\u201d featuring\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/francispouliot_\/status\/1400171248643096579\">multiple stages<\/a>, including the main \u201cNakamoto Stage\u201d as well as side stages like \u201cStacking Sats Stage&#8221; and &#8220;End Of Fiat Stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bitcoin_2021_relocates_to_%E2%80%9CBitcoin_capital%E2%80%9D_Miami\"><\/span>Bitcoin 2021 relocates to \u201cBitcoin capital\u201d Miami<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The conference is hosted by Bitcoin Magazine, a crypto publication co-founded by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin back in 2012. Initially set to take place in Los Angeles, California, Bitcoin 2021 was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/industry-events\/bitcoin-2021-is-moving-to-miami\">relocated<\/a> to Miami earlier this year as mayor Francis Suarez began campaigning to establish Miami as the \u201cworld\u2019s cryptocurrency capital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMayor Francis Suarez is making a play to establish Miami as the Bitcoin capital of the world, so naturally he\u2019s asked us to bring the largest Bitcoin conference in history to his city, as soon as it\u2019s safe for attendees and residents,\u201d the event organizers said in March.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_one_notable_speakers\"><\/span>Day one notable speakers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Mayor Suarez himself is set to be the opening speaker of the main conference day one, kicking off the event with opening remarks at the main Nakamoto Stage at 9:00 am ET.<\/p>\n<p>Cointelegraph will be on the ground covering the latest developments live on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Cointelegraph\">Twitter<\/a>. Davidson and Lummis will talk at a panel \u201cBringing Bitcoin Innovation Home To America\u201d at 3:35 pm ET.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin 2021 will also feature major former U.S. government regulators including Chris Giancarlo, a former chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and Brian Brooks, a former acting comptroller of the currency of the United States Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the current Binance US CEO. Giancarlo and Brooks are set to discuss financial innovation at 1:45 pm ET.<\/p>\n<p>Other notable Nakamoto Stage speakers include BitGold creator Nick Szabo, Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Morgan Creek Digital co-founder Anthony Pompliano, MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor, former presidential candidate and congressmember\u00a0Ron Paul, and major crypto and blockchain investor Tim Draper.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is set to discuss the crypto industry\u2019s opportunities to bank the unbanked with Human Rights Foundation chief strategy officer Alex Gladstein at 12:25 pm ET.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the world&#8217;s biggest celebrities are not missing on the major Bitcoin 2021 event. Paris Hilton announced her attendance in a Thursday tweet, stating that she loves being a part of this the crypto community.
