Thought the $14,000 packet of McDonald\u2019s Szechuan sauce was expensive? A Chicken McNugget went for a mind-boggling $100,000 on eBay Friday due to its resemblance to a character from the mystery video game<\/a> \u201cAmong Us.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI had figured it would get somewhere around $50 but nothing like this,\u201d the seller, whose account name on eBay is polizna, told CNET<\/a> of the wallet-walloping nosh, which was bought for a whopping $99,997 when bidding closed early Friday morning.<\/p>\n

The edible facsimile was originally listed for $0.99 before blowing up due to its \u201cunmistakable correlation\u201d with one of the roly-poly spacemen from the game. It even sported the \u201codd bump on the back that would represent the backpack,\u201d according to polizna, who goes by the name Tav.<\/p>\n

The snack\u2019s uncanny resemblance reportedly got the attention of the official \u201cAmong Us\u201d Twitter<\/a> account, which tweeted about it midway <\/a>through the bidding war, writing \u201cThere\u2019s a $34,443.43 among us chicken nugget on sale and i don\u2019t know how to feel about it??? but also?? i want it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tender\u2019s video game-evoking visage wasn\u2019t its only selling point. The delicious doppelg\u00e4nger was reportedly part of a McDonald\u2019s BTS meal, which was named after the Grammy-nominated K-pop group that collaborated on the deal. <\/p>\n

The popular menu item includes 10 Chicken McNuggets, medium fries, a Coke and two new dipping sauces \u2014 Chili and Cajun \u2014 inspired by recipes from Golden Arches outlets in South Korea.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As such, the condition is listed as \u201cused,\u201d although the seller assured prospective buyers that the nugget will be frozen and then sealed to ensure freshness before shipping, CNET reported.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, it\u2019s unlikely that nugget\u2019s new owner will actually take it home. While the seller believes that many people would pay an absurd price for a chicken nugget, he doesn\u2019t \u201cthink the final bidder will actually go through with the purchase as there are lots of people who bid on things like this for the \u2018memes.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n

Still, this isn\u2019t the first time a Mickey Dees dish has gone for a ludicrous price online. In 2017, eBay hawkers sold bottles of McDonald\u2019s special sauce for a mind-boggling $100,000 after receiving the coveted condiment as part of a giveaway.<\/p>\n
