It\u2019s nothing to be ashamed of\u2014even <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=htk6eXxpSNA\">Jon Bot Jovi<\/a>, a Raspberry Pi-powered <em>Guitar Hero<\/em> robot, misses a note every once and awhile.<\/p>\n<p>Created by Nick O\u2019Hara, Jon Bot Jovi is a life-sized robotic guitar player that shreds through any song on <em>Guitar Hero<\/em>, even if it\u2019s never practiced the song before. The robot reads a video stream from a PS2 to see which notes it needs to hit, reaching near-100% accuracy without any dirty tricks.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"I made a Guitar Hero robot (and it SHREDS)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/htk6eXxpSNA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Funny enough, Jon Bot Jovi actually presses down on each of the\u00a0<em>Guitar Hero<\/em> controllers buttons and strums notes with its right hand (if you can call it that). The robot\u2019s \u201cfingers\u201d are actually solenoids\u2014electromagnets that move a rod up and down\u2014that are controlled and powered by a Raspberry Pi 4.<\/p>\n<p>You can watch Jon Bot Jovi breeze past \u201cThrough the Fire and Flames\u201d in the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=htk6eXxpSNA\">above video<\/a>.
