Even Tom Cruise would be jealous of these<\/em> stunts.<\/p>\n

Paramount+ dropped a wild trailer for the upcoming action film \u201cInfinite,\u201d starring Mark Wahlberg (\u201cTed\u201d) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (\u201c12 Years a Slave\u201d), Friday. The teaser is packed with sword fights, blazing guns, a fight scene atop a sky-high crane and a crazy, window-smashing car chase right through NYPD headquarters. However, the show-stopper is a sequence depicting Wahlberg\u2019s character, Evan McCauley, flying off the edge of a cliff \u2014 and onto the wing of an airplane. It\u2019s quite a tumble, and we assume it\u2019s CGI.<\/p>\n

But don\u2019t worry \u2014 there\u2019s an actual plot, too.<\/p>\n

Wahlberg\u2019s Evan is on the verge of a mental breakdown, haunted by \u201cskills he has never learned and memories of places he has never visited,\u201d according to the official synopsis. It turns out he\u2019s kinda special in this dark, ominous tale about endless reincarnation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t your first life, Evan,\u201d Ejiofor\u2019s unnamed, doomsday-seeking antagonist tells him. \u201cYou are an \u2018Infinite.\u2019 You\u2019ve lived \u2014 and died \u2014 a thousand times.\u201d Evan has to save humanity (of course) and thwart his nemesis \u2014 who is also an Infinite \u2014 from ending all life and stopping what he sees as a cursed cycle of reincarnation.<\/p>\n

Based on the book \u201cThe Reincarnationist Papers<\/a>\u201d by D. Eric Maikranz, the film is directed by Antoine Fuqua (\u201cThe Equalizer\u201d) and also stars Dylan O\u2019Brien, Sophie Cookson, Jason Mantzoukas and Rupert Friend.<\/p>\n

\u201cInfinite\u201d will premiere June 10 on Paramount+<\/a>.<\/p>\n
