Notifications on Android are a key part of the smartphone experience, and the sounds that go with them are equally as important. If you\u2019re hearing notification sounds all day, you might as well\u00a0make them sound better. Here\u2019s how to do it.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, it\u2019s super easy to change notification sounds on Android devices. Every phone or tablet will come with its own default sounds, but you don\u2019t need to use them. There\u2019s always a handful of sounds to choose from.<\/p>\n

First, swipe down from the top of the screen once or twice and tap the gear icon to open the Settings menu.<\/p>\n

In the Settings, look for something like \u201cSound\u201d or \u201cSound & Vibration.\u201d The name of the section will be different depending on the Android version and device manufacturer.<\/p>\n

Next, look for \u201cNotification Sound\u201d or \u201cDefault Notification Sound.\u201d You might have to expand an \u201cAdvanced\u201d section to find the option.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll now see a list of notification sounds to choose from. Tapp<\/a>ing one of the sounds will play a preview. Again, this will look vastly different from device to device.<\/p>\n

There will usually be an option to use your own custom audio clips as well. Look for a \u201c+\u201d button. (Sometimes it will be inside a \u201cMy Sounds\u201d section.)<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve found a sound that you like, tap \u201cSave\u201d or \u201cApply\u201d to finish.<\/p>\n
