Here\u2019s an auction for some who like it hot in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

Marilyn Monroe\u2019s cookbooks are up for auction, where they\u2019re expected to change hands for between $50,000 and $75,000, TMZ reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The two 1950s hardbacks \u2014 \u201cThe New Fanny Farmer Boston Cooking-School Cook Book\u201d and \u201cThe New Joy of Cooking\u201d \u2014 are the only cookbooks confirmed to have been owned by the archetypical blonde bombshell.<\/p>\n

The books offer a glimpse into her culinary life, and include handwritten notes with a grocery list, a deli business card with a Beverly Hills-area address written in her handwriting on the back, and a diet schedule.<\/p>\n

The 20th-century grocery list includes eggs, milk, cornflakes, jello, cream, bread, coffee, butter, and soda.<\/p>\n

The lot also includes a recipe for cheese lasagna clipped from a news<\/a>paper, with doodles.<\/p>\n

So what were Monroe\u2019s dietary best friends? The typewritten diet schedule lists alternate options for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Breakfast, at 8 a.m., included orange juice or stewed prunes, well-cooked cereal, white toast with butter, and one cup of milk or \u201cweak cocoa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lunch, at 1 p.m., was a choice of an egg, cottage cheese, potato, spaghetti, or noodles, with bread or toast and jello or cooked fruit.<\/p>\n

Dinner, lastly, at 6:30 p.m., was a choice of lean beef, chicken, lamb, sweetbread, fish, or chicken liver, with a potato (\u201cany way but fried\u201d), a cup of vegetables, bread \u2014 and pudding or a baked app<\/a>le for dessert.<\/p>\n

The schedule also provides for a late-morning and late-afternoon snack: one cup of milk plus one cracker.<\/p>\n

Lastly, it listed a late-night serving of eggnog at 11 p.m., but no word on if it was boozy.<\/p>\n

The quotidian breakfast is a little more involved than the go-to on-the-go breakfast she described to Pageant magazine in 1952.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been told that my eating habits are absolutely bizarre, but I don\u2019t think so. Before I take my morning shower, I start warming a cup of milk on the hot plate I keep in my hotel room. When it\u2019s hot, I break two raw eggs into the milk, whip them up with a fork, and drink them while I\u2019m dressing. I supplement this with a multi-vitamin pill, and I doubt if any doctor could recommend a more nourishing breakfast for a working girl in a hurry,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dinners at home are startlingly simple,\u201d she continued. \u201cEvery night I stop at the market near my hotel and pick up a steak, lamb chops, or some liver, which I broil in the electric oven in my room.\u201d<\/p>\n

The auction, to be held by Siegel Auction Galleries<\/a> in New York City, will begin June 22. The auction house didn\u2019t immedia<\/a>tely return a message from The Post.\n <\/div>\n
