Once 70 percent of the state has been vaccinated, Hawaii will drop its quarantine and COVID-19 testing requirements, officials said.<\/p>\n

Hawaii will also stop making people wear masks indoors once that level is reached, Hawaii Gov. David Ige told reporters Friday<\/a>. <\/p>\n

So far, 59 percent of Hawaii\u2019s population has had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 52 percent finished their dosing regimen, state health data shows.<\/p>\n

Currently, travel<\/a>ers arriving from out of state must spend 10 days in quarantine or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken before their departure for the islands at the airport.<\/p>\n

Once 60 percent of Hawaii\u2019s population is vaccinated, the state will let travelers skip the quarantine if they can show they were vaccinated in the US.<\/p>\n

Restrictions on travel between the islands will open up before that.<\/p>\n

Ige said that as of June 15, people will be able to fly between the islands without taking a COVID-19 test or showing proof of vaccination.<\/p>\n
