It\u2019s a popular smart speaker that uses a virtual assistant named Alexa that\u2019s developed from AI.\u00a0There are many generations of the Echo Dot, including the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Amazon-Echo-Bluetooth-Speaker-with-Alexa-Black\/dp\/B00X4WHP5E\/?tag=hotoge-20\">original 1st Generation<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Amazon-Echo-Dot-Portable-Bluetooth-Speaker-with-Alexa-Black\/dp\/B01DFKC2SO\/?tag=hotoge-20\">2nd Generation<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Echo-bundle-Amazon-Smart-Plug\/dp\/B07VB567XT\/?tag=hotoge-20\">3rd Generation<\/a>, and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/All-new-Echo-4th-Gen-Twilight-Blue\/dp\/B085HK4KL6\/?tag=hotoge-20\">4th Generation<\/a>\u00a0ones.<\/p>\n<p>Starting at $50, the Echo Dot is the least expensive Echo speaker. The wake word is the name to which the device will listen to know when you\u2019re calling it. By default, the wake word is Alexa, but you can change it to \u201cEcho,\u201d \u201cAmazon,\u201d or \u201cComputer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once you say the wake word, you can follow up with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/home\/smart-home\/every-alexa-command-you-can-give-your-amazon-echo-smart-speaker-or-display\/?tag=hotoge-20\">any of Alexa\u2019s voice commands<\/a>.
