A graduation party in suburban Minnesota turned tragic when a\u00a014-year-old boy was fatally shot, according to cops who are hunting for his killer.<\/p>\n

Demaris Nathan Hobbs-Ekdahl was\u00a0celebrating\u00a0 his older brother\u2019s graduation on Saturday night when he\u00a0was struck by a bullet at a home in Woodbury \u2014\u00a0prompting horrified screams from partygoers, city police told local outlets.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe just went to the graduation party with his older brother and they opened fire,\u201d his aunt, Katie Ekdahl, told startribune.com<\/a>. \u201cThey have got to get these kids off these streets with these guns.\u201d<\/p>\n

A white SUV was spotted fleeing the area and Hobbs-Ekdahl later died from unspecified injuries, police said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHelp me!\u201d one party-goer can be heard yelling in a 911 call reporting the shooting, KARE 11 <\/a>reported.<\/p>\n

The gunfire broke out at a house party with 30 or 40 people inside, according to the local station. Cops said several other houses were hit by gunfire, but nobody was injured.<\/p>\n

The teen, who had just finished his freshman year at Tartan High School in Oakdale, was described as \u201ca beautiful soul\u201d and \u201cfull of life\u201d in a GoFundMe<\/a> page set up for his family.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night\u2019s shooting on Edgewood Avenue resulted in the tragic loss of a 14-year-old boy, and our hearts go out to his family,\u201d said Woodbury police spokesperson John Altman. \u201cDetectives worked tirelessly through the night investigating the case and will continue to work on developing leads.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
