Check out the first footage below.<br \/><span id=\"more-675024\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kate_Teaser\"><\/span>Kate Teaser<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dBRN8GTgXMg\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dBRN8GTgXMg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This footage\/motion poster was released as part of the first day of Netflix\u2019s Geeked Week, and it showcases the <em>Scott Pilgrim vs. The World<\/em> actress in another action role following her excellent supporting turn as the ultra-serious assassin character Huntress in 2020\u2019s underrated DC movie <em>Birds of Prey<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"It_Looks_Like_Crank_But_With_Heart\"><\/span>It Looks Like Crank, But With Heart<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->This film\u2019s logline: \u201cAfter she\u2019s irreversibly poisoned, a ruthless criminal operative has less than 24 hours to exact revenge on her enemies and in the process forms an unexpected bond with the daughter of one of her past victims.\u201d Sounds like writer <strong>Umair Aleem<\/strong>\u00a0may have seen Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor\u2019s 2006 modern action classic <em>Crank<\/em>\u00a0and wanted to take a similar premise and inject a bit of heart into it. (<em>Crank<\/em> stars Jason Statham as a man who is poisoned and has to keep his heart rate elevated to stay alive long enough to get revenge. It\u2019s great.)<\/p>\n<p>Aleem previously wrote a 2015 action thriller called <em>Extraction<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 not the Chris Hemsworth Netflix movie, but one starring Bruce Willis and Kellan Lutz that practically no one saw. And when I say no one saw it, I mean <em>no one<\/em>: it had a $12 million budget and barely cracked $700,000 at the worldwide box office. Yikes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cedric Nicolas-Troyan<\/strong>, whose only other feature directing credit is 2016\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Huntsman: Winter\u2019s War<\/em>, directed <em>Kate<\/em>. The film is produced by\u00a0<strong>Bryan Unkeless<\/strong>, <strong>Patrick Newall<\/strong>, and <strong>Kelly McCormick<\/strong> of 87eleven, the action\/stunt production company that\u2019s run by Chad Stahelski (the <em>John Wick<\/em> films) and <strong>David Leitch<\/strong> (<em>Atomic Blonde<\/em>, <em>Deadpool 2<\/em>, <em>Hobbs and Shaw<\/em>).
