weeks, as more than two of every five Americans are now fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p> And <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2021\/p0607-mrna-reduce-risks.html\" class=\"icon none\">a new \u201creal-world\u201d study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)<\/a> showed that mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines, from Pfizer Inc.<br \/>\n        PFE,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/202877789\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.96%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and partner BioNTech SE<br \/>\n        BNTX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/214419716\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-6.38%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and from Moderna Inc.<br \/>\n        MRNA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/205619834\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-4.66%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       reduced the risk of infection by 91% for fully vaccinated people.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       The CDC study also showed that the \u201cfew\u201d fully vaccinated Americans who still get COVID-19 have milder and shorter illness and are less likely to spread the virus.<\/p>\n<p>The findings came from four weeks of data collected in a study of health care workers, first responders and frontline workers, or people more likely to be exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 because of their jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOVID-19 vaccines are a critical tool in overcoming this pandemic,\u201d said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky. \u201cThese benefits are another important reason to get vaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the U.S., fully vaccinated means it has been two weeks since the second of the two-dose vaccines developed by Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna have been administered, or it\u2019s been two weeks since receiving the lone dose of Johnson &amp; Johnson\u2019s<br \/>\n        JNJ,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/201724570\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-1.52%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0vaccine. J&amp;J\u2019s vaccine is adenovirus-based and doesn\u2019t use mRNA-based <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The the seven-day average of new cases rose to 15,091 on Monday from Sunday\u2019s 13,927, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2021\/us\/covid-cases.html?action=click&amp;module=Spotlight&amp;pgtype=Homepage\" class=\"icon none\">a New York Times tracker showed<\/a>, but marked a 39% decline from two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-day average of new daily deaths nudged up to 459 on Monday from Sunday\u2019s 437, but has dropped 19% from two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>The tick up in cases and deaths come as 22 states are now showing an increase in the weekly trend of cases, up from just three states a last week, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.jhu.edu\/testing\/tracker\/overview\" class=\"icon none\">according to data aggregated by Johns Hopkins University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 302.85 million vaccine doses have now been administered, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/covid.cdc.gov\/covid-data-tracker\/#vaccinations\" class=\"icon none\">according to the latest data from the CDC<\/a>,  and the number of Americans fully vaccinated has increased to 139.75 million, or 42.1% of the total population.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>Within age groups, 49.9% of Americans who are at least 12 years old are fully vaccinated, as are 53.0% of the U.S. adult population and 75.6% of Americans at least 65 years old.<\/p>\n<p>There are now three U.S. states \u2014 Vermont (53.5%), Massachusetts (52.7%) and Connecticut (50.6%) \u2014 in which more than half of their respective populations have been fully vaccinated, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.jhu.edu\/vaccines\/us-states\" class=\"icon none\">JHU data show<\/a>.
