There are nice guys \u2014 and then there are niece<\/em> guys. <\/p>\n

During the Season 17 premiere of \u201cThe Bachelorette,\u201d leading lady Katie Thurston was introduced to 29 potential future husbands. Several caught her eye, including \u201cUncle\u201d Greg Grippo. <\/p>\n

On Night 1, Thurston awarded the 28-year-old marketing sales rep from Edison, NJ, the highly coveted first impression rose and a kiss, making him the season\u2019s current front-runner. <\/p>\n

Grippo, an uncle of seven (soon to be eight), wooed Thurston by presenting her with a painted pasta necklace made by one of his nieces. <\/p>\n

\u201cI app<\/a>reciate you opening up, I know you\u2019re nervous, but I do feel that there\u2019s something there,\u201d Thurston told him while presenting him the flower. \u201cThere\u2019s a great guy under there.\u201d <\/p>\n

Grippo\u2019s official ABC bio hypes him as \u201chandsome, kind, vulnerable and serious about wanting to settle down.\u201d Serious is an understatement: He wants a big brood, and is hoping to have at least six kids. The family man is close with his parents, and wants a partner to travel<\/a> the world with. <\/p>\n

A former basketball player himself (he played in college<\/a> for Saint Michael\u2019s College in Vermont), Grippo dreams of seeing LeBron James play in person. He\u2019s sensitive, and often cries during movies<\/a>. But don\u2019t sit with him in traffic: slow drivers are his biggest pet peeve. If he had a theme song, it would be Queen and David Bowie\u2019s \u201cUnder Pressure.\u201d <\/p>\n

According to<\/a> professional spoiler Reality Steve, Grippo was originally cast as an extra participant on Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adam\u2019s season, though he and 14 others were cut. <\/p>\n

On his Instagram<\/a>, the Jersey-ite can be seen hanging out with his siblings and their kids, visiting farms and posing with members of his fantasy football league. <\/p>\n

While the first impression rose has often predicted an engagement, only time will tell if Thurston and Grippo will make it down the aisle.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
