Zoey\u2019s Extraordinary Playlist<\/em> will not be returning to NBC for a third season, but the beloved musical comedy series<\/a> is hoping for an encore somewhere else.<\/p>\n

Following the cancelation news<\/a>, the cast and crew took to social media<\/a> to share their reactions, including the show\u2019s creator, Austin Winsberg, who promised to continue fighting to keep Zoey\u2019s Extraordinary Playlist<\/em> alive. \u201cI refuse to believe the show is dead,\u201d Winsberg tweeted on Wednesday. \u201cThere is too much love and goodwill and the fan base is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

After stating that he believes the show \u201ccan have a real chance somewhere else,\u201d Winsberg urged fans and cast members to show their support by tweeting #saveZoeysplaylist. \u201cLet\u2019s get it trending and let the powers that be know the app<\/a>etite is strong,\u201d he said. \u201cAlso open to any other suggestions to prove the love.\u201d Following Winsberg\u2019s tweets, the hashtag was trending at number one in the United States on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s executive producer Paul Feig echoed Winsberg\u2019s sentiments, comparing the situation to the tragic cancelation of another cult-favorite show he was involved with many years ago. \u201cWe want nothing more than to keep this wonderful show going,\u201d Feig wrote. \u201cI feel like it\u2019s 21 years ago all over again when Freaks & Geeks<\/em> got cancelled.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cast also shared their reactions, with Skylar Astin writing, \u201cWhat am I supposed to do with this power now?\u201d Astin was referring to the Season 2 cliffhanger in which his character, Max, discovered he can also hear loved one\u2019s inner thoughts in the form of song like Jane Levy\u2018s ttular character. He also encouraged fans to share their reasons why they want the show back in their lives.<\/p>\n
