Ted<\/em><\/strong>, the movie where Mark Wahlberg<\/strong> hangs out with a teddy bear who sounds a lot like Peter Griffin, is becoming a TV series over at Peacock.\u00a0Seth MacFarlane<\/strong>, who directed, co-wrote, and voice acted in\u00a0Ted<\/em> and\u00a0Ted 2<\/em>, is on board to executive produce the series through his Fuzzy Door company. It\u2019s the second TV series Peacock has landed from McFarlane\u2019s Fuzzy Door \u2013 earlier this year they ordered\u00a0The End is Nye<\/em>, a Fuzzy Door show hosted by Bill Nye.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t know this until now, but\u00a0Ted<\/em> is app<\/a>arently the highest-grossing original comedy (not a sequel or based on other IP) of\u00a0all time<\/em>. Yes, you read that right. Together, the two\u00a0Ted<\/em> movies grossed\u00a0more than $750 million worldwide. People just can\u2019t get enough of Ted!
\nNow here\u2019s the part of this story where I tell you I\u2019ve seen neither of the Ted<\/em> movies, because I\u2019m not a big Seth MacFarlane fan. Sorry!<\/p>\n

The announcement comes straight from Peacock. The streaming service has given a straight-to-series order for a\u00a0Ted<\/em> show, based on the hit movies\u00a0Ted<\/em> and\u00a0Ted 2<\/em>. The show is coming from\u00a0UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and MRC Television, and Fuzzy Door, Seth McFarlane\u2019s production company. McFarlane is also in negotiations to reprise the voice of\u00a0Ted<\/em>, the titular teddy bear who isn\u2019t like other teddy bears because he\u2019s alive, and he says \u201cfuck.\u201d<\/p>\n

McFarlane will executive produce the series along with Erica Huggins through Fuzzy Door. Fuzzy Door is responsible for\u00a0The Orville<\/em>, Family Guy<\/em>, and American Dad!<\/em>, as well as the upcoming Peacock series\u00a0The End is Nye<\/em>, hosted by Bill Nye.<\/p>\n

I suppose the question now is: how do you turn\u00a0Ted<\/em> into a TV series? I\u2019m going to guess that Mark Wahlberg won\u2019t be back, because I don\u2019t see him starring in a Peacock series. Would the show just have Ted all on his own? Or does he need some sort of human character to bounce off of? I guess we\u2019ll see whenever the first season of\u00a0Ted<\/em> arrives.<\/p>\n
