We know, alas, that it has been canceled at ABC, and it doesn\u2019t seem as though there is any hope that it is coming back there.<\/p>\n<p>So why did the network opt to end the show in the first place? The simplest answer is low ratings. The Katey Sagal <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> didn\u2019t get off to the start that the network was hoping for, especially when you consider that it had a successful series like\u00a0<em>Grey\u2019s Anatomy\u00a0<\/em>airing before it. There was a reasonable promotional campaign leading up to the premiere, though we\u2019d argue that it is also really tough to get a new property off the ground in the spring \u2014 even one with big names attached like Sagal and Erin Brockovich behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest shame with the\u00a0<em>Rebel\u00a0<\/em>cancellation is mostly that the network didn\u2019t give it all that much of a chance. It was canceled only after a handful of airings, which isn\u2019t much of an opportunity for a show like this to find its footing. Of course, after the cancellation it\u2019s even harder to get viewers to start watching \u2014 why would they when they know the story could have an incomplete conclusion?<\/p>\n<p>At the time of this writing, we haven\u2019t heard anything that suggests that\u00a0<em>Rebel\u00a0<\/em>season 2 will air or stream elsewhere \u2014 though we would still argue that Hulu would be a great home for it. Remember that they share a parent company with ABC, which is where showrunner Krista Vernoff has her overall deal.
