\n It was out of the frying pan and into the online fire.<\/p>\n

A Florida swimmer is being compared to Hellboy after social-media footage surfaced of him bearing a horrific sunburn reminiscent of the famous scarlet superhero. The clip has since caught fire on Twitter<\/a>, racking up nearly 7 million views.<\/p>\n

The unnamed beachgoer app<\/a>eared in a Twitter video posted by ABC News<\/a> July 9 that depicted a swarm of stingrays swimming past oblivious bathers in Florida.<\/p>\n

The merciless online hordes were quick to torch the sunburned soul.<\/p>\n

\u201cLooked like Hellboy to me,\u201d quipped one in reference\u00a0to the crimson character with devil horns from Dark Horse Comics, which later spawned a successful film franchise starring Ron Perlman.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that satan having a swim?\u201d joked another.<\/p>\n

\nAnother took pity on the vermilion swimmer, writing: \u201cThat red man is going to have some regrets when he tries to sleep. And when he wakes up. And all the next week.\u201d\n<\/div>\n

Others took shots at ABC for neglecting to mention the sunburned man and instead focusing on the comparatively boring stingrays.<\/p>\n

\u201cTalk about burying the lede?!?!?!\u201d observed one in a searing Twitter tirade. \u201cThe story here, at least the one anybody actually cares about, is the red dude! Ain\u2019t nobody thinking about the damn stingrays! \u2026 Except maybe wondering what they thought when they encountered their 1st red human being. Who the hell is he?\u201d<\/p>\n

Another added, \u201cAre we just gonna ignore the dude trying to get skin cancer?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came for stingrays, we stayed for the red lobster,\u201d wrote one Twitter wit in reference to the man\u2019s crispy countenance.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time a blazing tan has set the interwebs alight. Last year, a UK teenager shared photos of giant, ballooning blisters caused by a vicious sunburn she received while vacationing in Cuba.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
