In 1980s New York, it dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared in a melodic revolution of hip-hop beats and rock riffs that helped fuel the rise of contemporary music.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a just-opened museum exhibit explores the peak years of this musical renaissance, which changed the local cultural landscape \u2014 and eventually found its way to a global stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mcny.org\/exhibition\/new-york-new-music\">New York, New Music: 1980-1986<\/a>,\u201d on view at the Museum of the City of New York, shows visitors how it all happened \u2014 thanks to emerging genres, new collaborations and the power of television. Downtown, the rock scene ruled. In 1977, she went to The Bronx to see the DJ Grandmaster Flash do a set. After meeting him, she reportedly told him, \u201cI\u2019m going to write a rap about you on my next record.\u201d Her 1981 \u201cRapture\u201d single kept that promise, which Corcoran refers to as an example of the \u201ccross-pollination that\u2019s happening in the studio at the time.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFab Five Freddy told me everybody\u2019s fly,\u201d rapped Harry, \u201cDJ spinnin\u2019 I said, \u2018My my.\u2019 Flash is fast, Flash is cool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t just hip-hop and rock defining music in the 1980s. The Michigan native held her debut performance at the Danceteria club on Dec. 16, 1982 \u2014 another featured moment in the exhibit \u2014 which soon helped her become a household name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt speaks to the idea of this young woman coming from Detroit to New York to make it, and make it she did,\u201d said Corcoran.<\/p>\n<p>All the while, New York City artists found a friend in a new network that began spreading their distinctive sounds even farther. In 1984, Run-DMC, (formed in Queens three years earlier) had its \u201cRock Box\u201d debuted as the network\u2019s first hip-hop video by a hip-hop group.
