One of Gov. Andrew Cuomo\u2019s most outspoken critics is finding out that if you mess with the three-term Democrat, bad things can happ<\/a>en.<\/p>\n

Assemblyman Ron Kim (D-Queens) told The Post on Friday that he\u2019s been bombarded with hateful emails and Facebook<\/a> messages for repeatedly calling out Cuomo over his handling of nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Kim, who is Asian, said he\u2019s been called a \u201cgook,\u201d told he\u2019s \u201crotten to the core,\u201d and asked whether his \u201cfixation\u201d on Cuomo was affecting his marriage.<\/p>\n

One writer even issued a veiled threat, saying, \u201cIf I were you I would repent. Make peace with the governor. Because time is short. You don\u2019t want to make God angry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lord Jesus has his back. He will protect him\u2026And his enemies will be scattered,\u201d the writer added.<\/p>\n

In a bizarre twist, Kim also said he\u2019s even been sent more than a dozen of Cuomo\u2019s books, including several of the governor\u2019s recent coronavirus memoir that was were purchased new from Amazon and sent to him.<\/p>\n

Kim said that situation led him to contact the NYPD and that the state Assembly will be installing security cameras outside his district office in Flushing next week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are we supposed to do?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have the state police guarding my house like the governor does.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kim \u2014 who has previously accused Cuomo of personally threatening to \u201cdestroy\u201d him \u2013blamed the governor for the harassment, saying, \u201cI think he encourages that kind of culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s either get along or get killed. There\u2019s only two speeds in that office,\u201d Kim said.<\/p>\n

Kim\u2019s criticism of Cuomo includes blasting the governor for callously asking \u201cwho cares\u201d whether people died of COVID-19 in nursing homes or hospitals during an infamous news<\/a> conference in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho talks like that about older adults?\u201d Kim said during a March memorial service in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

\u201cA coward. One hundred percent, a coward. An abuser. Someone who abuses their power would say that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kim \u2014 whose\u00a0uncle died in a Queens nursing home after suffering \u201call the symptoms\u201d of the coronavirus \u2014 also said he felt \u201cgaslit\u201d and stopped watching TV for six months after seeing Cuomo and his brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, joke around amid the mounting nursing home death toll.<\/p>\n

Kim has repeatedly called on Cuomo to either resign or be impeached over the nursing home scandal, as well as over the sexual harassment allegations against him.<\/p>\n

Kim said\u00a0Friday\u00a0that \u201cthe online trolls have been pretty consistent for months, and every time I\u2019ve made an appearance in the media I will immediately get trolled.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut now they\u2019ve taken it offline and they\u2019ve sent these books to Albany and my office, to the point where the mail office in Albany notified us that they don\u2019t want to accept these packages,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kim also called it \u201cdisturbing that there are still people susceptible to Cuomo\u2019s demagoguery and will go out of their way to target someone like me for doing my job, which has been to stick up for older adults and vulnerable constituents.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI do not want to lower my voice but at some point, if I feel like my family and my staff are in an uncomfortable place, I may have to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi said, \u201cRon Kim has told many lies about this administration, but there should be zero tolerance for hate speech and racially motivated harassment.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe\u2019re not in contact with these individuals. Period.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
