Porn star Dakota Skye died Wednesday \u2014 just weeks after being trolled online over posing topless at a George Floyd mural. She was 27. <\/p>\n

The California resident \u2014 whose real name was Lauren Kaye Scott<\/a> \u2014 was discovered dead in her Los Angeles motorhome by her unnamed husband, who identified the body to authorities, the Sun reported.<\/a> The coroner\u2019s office has yet to confirm a cause of the death. <\/p>\n

The Tampa Bay, Florida, native, who also performed under the alias \u201cKota Sky,\u201d faced backlash online over a pic posted to her now-deleted Instagram page. It showed the blond bombshell flashing the camera at the Santa Barbara mural of George Floyd, who was killed by police last year. <\/p>\n

The stunt didn\u2019t go over too well on social media<\/a>, with one aghast commenter writing, \u201cThis is some serious disrespectful bulls*** Lauren.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWtf what does flashing have to do with George Floyd death,\u201d wondered another of the tone-deaf pic. <\/p>\n

Skye had faced a fierce backlash after posing topless at the George Floyd mural in Santa Barbara, Calif.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The \u201cBlonde College Sluts\u201d star defended the racy photo-op by claiming that she was \u201ccelebrating BAD cops being checked with abusing there authority against human beings \u2026 hello.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo human being should die getting arrested,\u201d wrote Skye, who has appeared in over 300 skin flicks since she started her career in 2013. She was nominated for Best New Starlet in 2015 at the AVN Awards, a k a the \u201cOscars of porn.\u201d She remained semi-active as a performer until last year, according to the Internet Adult Film Database<\/a>, spanning virtually every major production company.<\/p>\n

However, sources told the adult industry news outlet<\/a> XBIX that she had also been suffering from \u201cpersonal struggles,\u201d which reportedly included an addiction to alcohol and fentanyl, as well as an abusive family environment. <\/p>\n

\u201cLauren was a product of a highly dysfunctional family involving drugs, alcohol, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse,\u201d Skye\u2019s aunt, Linda Arden, told the Sun, adding that her niece \u201cdied almost exactly two years after her mother \u2014 my baby sister\u2019s \u2014 death, which was caused by addiction and alcoholism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not only that, but two of Skye\u2019s grandparents had reportedly died of COVID-19 within the last year. Arden also claimed that Skye was estranged from her husband who had \u201cloved her dearly.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2017, the starlet was arrested for slapping her then-boyfriend Robert Anderson Jr. in the face after sex \u2014 because he allegedly got mad she wouldn\u2019t get off her phone and leave his Florida home.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter sex, Scott would not get off the phone,\u201d according to her arrest report<\/a> at the time. \u201cAnderson Jr. wanted Scott to leave his residence. She became upset and hit Anderson Jr. in the face, swelling and cutting his bottom lip.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, her defenders claim she was merely misunderstood: \u201cShe was stalked by demons like no one will ever understand unless you\u2019ve lived it,\u201d Arden said. <\/p>\n

The adult entertainer\u2019s family and friends said they were devastated by her loss. <\/p>\n

\u201cDakota was a dear friend and part of our industry family, and we are saddened by her loss,\u201d her friend and porn industry insider James Bartholet told AVN Magazine<\/a>. \u201cShe still had so much more to give to the world and to the industry, and I\u2019m just very saddened and at a loss for words.\u201d<\/p>\n
