They want him to pull the ripcord on this \u201cinsensitive\u201d segment. <\/p>\n

Critics are petitioning James Corden to retire the \u201cSpill Your Guts\u201d segment of the \u201cLate Late Show,\u201d which they deemed \u201cculturally offensive\u201d to Asians. <\/p>\n

\u201cNot only is this segment incredibly culturally offensive and insensitive, but it also encourages anti-Asian racism,\u201d reads the petition<\/a>, which currently boasts over 12,000 signatures on Change.org. It calls for the removal of the controversial segment, in which the talk show hosts forces celebrities to answer difficult questions or eat \u201cgross\u201d foods. A smorgasbord of A-list celebs has app<\/a>eared on the \u201cSpill Your Guts,\u201d including Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Jimmy Kimmel and Demi Moore.<\/p>\n

The campaign was started by TikTok user Kim Saira, who went viral for lambasting the program in a viral video<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe foods that are presented are meant to be \u2018gross,\u2019 as they are supposed to encourage the guest to answer his questions instead,\u201d Saira described in the online document. She went on to observe that many of the supposedly disgusting dishes featured on \u201cSYG\u201d \u2014 like fetal duck egg, 100-year-old-eggs and chicken feet \u2014 are \u201cregularly eaten by Asian people.\u201d <\/p>\n

Indeed, balut \u2014 or embryonic duck egg \u2014 is prized in the Philippines while many Southern Chinese epicures consider 100-year-old eggs<\/a> and chicken kickers part of a complete breakfast. <\/p>\n
