Washington Square Park devolved into another chaotic free-for-all overnight \u2014 with a man dressed as \u201cThe Joker\u201d assaulting another in the wee hours of Sunday as cops app<\/a>eared to turn a blind eye to the park\u2019s midnight closing time.<\/p>\n

Cops said no arrests were made Saturday night into Sunday as out-of-control revelers once again packed the Greenwich Village green space, despite neighbors\u2019 continuous complaints about the park\u2019s descent into lawlessness.<\/p>\n

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, someone dressed as the Batman villain slugged a 38-year-old man during a beef before taking off, according to police.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital and was listed in stable condition, cops said. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a 76-year-old man told police he put down his bag inside the famous arch to take a picture of his son on Saturday night \u2014 only to find that someone had swiped it.<\/p>\n

The bag contained the man\u2019s wallet, credit cards, keys and a cell phone, according to police.<\/p>\n

Dozens of cops massed at the arch at the park around 11 p.m. \u2014 but simply watched the revelers despite being pelted with insults.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat curfew?\u201d asked Upper West Side student Izel Van Epps, 20. \u201cIt\u2019s a f\u2014ing park. They like to pick and choose when to enforce it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another park partier, who said he goes by the name G5, stood in the crowd sipping from a red plastic cop while holding a beer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have a problem with the curfew,\u201d he said. \u201cSometimes it can get inappropriate. But you have to give people a place to come back from after a year of being locked down.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shortly after 1:30 a.m., police started telling people in the park, including a DJ, that they had to leave because it was past curfew \u2014 although a small group appeared to ignore the order and remained past 2:30 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Sunday morning, volunteers picked up trash \u2014 including Budweiser and water bottles \u2014 that was strewn about the park, the Washington Square Park Conservancy tweeted.<\/a><\/p>\n

Mayhem erupted at the famed Manhattan park Friday into Saturday, with two people knifed in a brawl and a man beaten and robbed of his cell phone, cops said.<\/p>\n

In all, six people were injured \u2014 including a 77-year-old cook at a local diner who was allegedly thrown into a window by an irate 27-year-old Brooklyn man, Gregory Conwell. Conwell now faces felony assault charges.<\/p>\n

The bedlam prompted city officials to impose a 10 p.m. weekend curfew two weeks ago amid a rash of complaints from neighbors that the area was turning into an out-of-control crime haven \u2014 but reinstated the park\u2019s regular midnight closing time this weekend.<\/p>\n

The city Department of Parks & Recreation said the decision on the curfew is made in conjunction with the NYPD, who said Saturday that it is reviewed \u201con an ongoing basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NYPD did not immedia<\/a>tely respond to a request for comment Sunday.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
