“#Big events get green light in the Netherlands<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Boy<\/span>, what a nice surprise we got from the Dutch government<\/span>.\u00a0The minister of Economic Affairs, Mona Keijzer,<\/span>\u00a0announced that as of June 30, ticketed events are allowed regardless of size, without face masks<\/span>, nor social<\/a><\/span> distancing!\u00a0<\/strong>To ensure safety, event attendees will need to show that they are vaccinated or provide a valid covid test (taken max 40 hours before the event) at the entrance<\/span>.<\/p>\n

This is big news<\/a> for the events industry, and it comes at a time we\u2019re all longing for in-person events. With a vaccine rate that\u2019s steeply increasing and more vaccination capacity in the next months, the Netherlands is on track to get everyone above 18 vaccinated during the summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

It goes without saying that we\u2019re very happ<\/a>y to see this development. TNW Conference,\u00a0which takes place on September 30 and October 1, will have a hybrid setup.\u00a0An\u00a0<\/b>in-person event in Amsterdam and a digital event for people who prefer to join virtually.<\/span><\/p>\n

The in-person tech festival will have a smaller capacity compared to previous years; we have room for (only) 4500 people. We will have health measures in place of course, but being able to actually rub shoulders again and chat with people without a face mask makes the experience so much more enjoyable.<\/p>\n

Uncertain times ask for different measures, so we\u2019d already put a new policy in place that lets attendees get a refund\u00a0 (no questions asked) for the in-person part of the ticket in case the event cannot take place.<\/p>\n

This offer still stands, but we\u2019re obviously stoked with the news that large-scale, in-person events are allowed again. We can\u2019t wait to see each other again in Amsterdam!<\/p>\n
