An outward-migrating moon just outside the rings can encounter a so-called orbital resonance, in which Deimos\u2019s orbital period is three times that of the other moon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The study has been accepted for publication in Astrophysical Journal Letters.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers are learning more about Mars\u2019 ancient past. A study published in March <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/mars-ancient-reservoirs-of-water-underground\">suggested<\/a> the Red Planet had two unique reservoirs of ancient water that once flowed deep beneath the planet\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n<p>NASA is slated to launch the recently renamed <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/nasa-new-mars-rovers-name-perseverance\">Perseverance<\/a> rover on July 17, 2020.
