A Wall Street billionaire whined about being forced to drive himself around and learn Zoom amid the pandemic that\u2019s cost a half a million people their lives and crippled the economy.<\/p>\n

An unnamed bigwig dubbed \u201cone of America\u2019s richest men\u201d by Bloomberg spoke to the outlet about his biggest worries during the coronavirus outbreak \u2014 which included not having anywhere to go on his private jet.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow if you\u2019re on a bus and you start sneezing, everybody gets upset,\u201d he whined in mid-March \u2014 before admitting that he didn\u2019t take the bus.<\/p>\n

The investor spoke with Bloomberg throughout the outbreak, providing insight into what the pandemic was like for some of the nation\u2019s wealthiest, according to the article published Tuesday.<\/p>\n

But the man requested anonymity as \u201cAmericans were too angry at rich bosses\u201d in the current climate, the outlet said.<\/p>\n

From his country home outside New York City, he told the author about having to drive himself to the store, since there was no staff around, and how \u201che could have hopped in his private jet and escaped, but really, he pointed out, where was he going to go?\u201d<\/p>\n

He also moaned about having to work remotely and not being able to \u201cget five people in a room\u201d \u2014 though he eventually seemed to get used to, and enjoy, software like Zoom.<\/p>\n

When people had first started taking notice of the virus, he told Bloomberg: \u201cI\u2019m not worried.\u201d<\/p>\n

He later admitted that, \u201cSome people are going to die.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s old people,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd if they do, it\u2019s OK.\u201d After a pause, he added: \u201cNot that it\u2019s OK. This isn\u2019t that bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

There didn\u2019t seem to be a reason to stress. The billionaire said \u201cI could get my hand on a test,\u201d adding that some of his rich buddies were quietly asking about reserving beds at private hospitals in case they got sick.<\/p>\n

The article states that: \u201cHe had connections to the boards of the best hospitals but said he\u2019d call in favors only for the people closest to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

By May 22, when the jobless rate had hit levels not seen since the Great Depression, he told the website: \u201cEverything is going great.\u201d<\/p>\n

The plan at work was to try to \u201ctake advantage of the situation,\u201d he continued, at a time when 325,000 people around the world had died of the virus.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used the wrong words,\u201d he said when questioned about his choice of words. \u201cIt\u2019s not \u2018take advantage.\u2019 It\u2019s a huge opportunity for us. That\u2019s what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

But that many Americans are suffering \u2014 with more than 30 percent of the nation\u2019s workforce sidelined since mid-March \u2014 while a select few are getting richer, is just part and parcel for this business bro.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs war fair? Do people die in a war? Yes,\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got a virus that is affecting people. It\u2019s pretty clear who it affects,\u201d he continued, referring to the sick and elderly.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo nature is saying, \u2018I\u2019m going to pick on you.\u2019 Is it fair? Is it right? No \u2014 but that\u2019s life.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
