{"id":274477,"date":"2021-06-14T20:54:28","date_gmt":"2021-06-14T17:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/amazon-tests-warehouse-robots-it-claims-will-reduce-worker-injuries\/"},"modified":"2021-06-14T20:54:28","modified_gmt":"2021-06-14T17:54:28","slug":"amazon-tests-warehouse-robots-it-claims-will-reduce-worker-injuries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/amazon-tests-warehouse-robots-it-claims-will-reduce-worker-injuries\/","title":{"rendered":"#Amazon tests warehouse robots it claims will reduce worker injuries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Amazon tests warehouse robots it claims will reduce worker injuries<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Amazon is testing robots that it claims will cut down on worker injuries at its warehouses \u2014 a nagging problem that was recently highlighted by CEO Jeff Bezos.<\/p>\n<p>The robots \u2013nicknamed Bert, Ernie, Kermit and Scooter \u2014 can pick up boxes and move them throughout the vast facilities \u201cto reduce the need for employees to reach up or bend down when retrieving items \u2014 and thus limit more strenuous movements,\u201d according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/innovation-at-amazon\/new-technologies-to-improve-amazon-employee-safety\">a blog <\/a>post Amazon posted on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ernie, for one, will take boxes off of a shelf with a robotic arm to deliver it to employees, so they can \u201cremain in a more comfortable, stable and ergonomically friendly position,\u201d according to the post.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is part of a $300 million investment Amazon\u2019s Jeff Bezos outlined in his final annual shareholder letter as chief executive in April when he acknowledged that the company \u201cneeds to do a better job for our employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>About 40 percent of the injuries at Amazon warehouses \u2014 where Amazon employs 6,200 \u201csafety professionals\u201d \u2013 are related to repetitive work, Bezos said in his shareholder letter.
