It has already reduced <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> times by almost ten percent in testing areas.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Evolution\"><\/span>Evolution<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The deployment is part of the council\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.york.gov.uk\/STEP#:~:text=The%20Smart%20Travel%20Evolution%20Programme,to%20improve%20travel%20in%20York.&amp;text=STEP%20will%20also%20generate%20a,for%20connected%20and%20autonomous%20vehicles.\">Smart Travel Evolution Program<\/a>, which was awarded \u00a32.85 million (US$4 million) by the UK government in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be the first city in the UK to introduce this innovative and cutting-edge technology to improve journeys and reduce pollution in York,\u201d said Dave Atkinson, Head of Programs and Smart Place at City of York Council.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this early stage it\u2019s already proving to be a success. We\u2019re able to predict future traffic levels based on our live traffic behavior and manage the flow of traffic better in busy periods by adjusting traffic lights to best suit traffic conditions.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Integrated_network\"><\/span>Integrated network<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In the past, the council managed the transport network through CCTV and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> feeds, with network monitoring operators (NMOs) and transport engineers manually implementing new plans and signal changes to ease issues.<\/p>\n<p>The York Optima model is integrated with over 100 live traffic flow sensors, more than 100 live signal controllers, live speed data across the network provided by TomTom, and up-to-date information about roadworks and other network changes.<\/p>\n<p>It combines all this data into a single view, so the control room can see in detail what is h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening across the whole network, and not only in those locations with sensors or CCTV.<\/p>\n<p>The Optima model also allows the control room to test alternative scenarios for the hour ahead, next day, or weeks in the future.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><i><span>Do EVs excite your electrons?
