\n He\u2019s got nerve: Gov. Andrew Cuomo launched a blistering attack on President Trump Monday yet had no real answer for his deadly nursing-home edict, which more and more experts are blasting after his folks tried to whitewash it.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump\u2019s COVID scandal makes what Nixon did at Watergate look innocent,\u201d the gov declared. \u201cNobody died in the Watergate scandal.\u201d He claimed \u201cNew York did nothing wrong\u201d in handling the pandemic; it was the feds who \u201ccaused our problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sorry: Washington didn\u2019t force New York nursing homes to admit 6,300 COVID-positive patients. Cuomo and his health commissioner, Howard Zucker, did that on their own, with their March 25 mandate.<\/p>\n

Nor is anyone buying last week\u2019s lame Department of Health report, which tried to absolve Team Cuomo of any guilt.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey really need to own the fact that .\u2009.\u2009. it was never right to send COVID patients into nursing homes and that people died because of it,\u201d Dr. Michael Wasserman, president of the California Association of Long Term Care Medicine, told the Associated Press.<\/p>\n

Catherine Troisi, an epidemiologist, said the report, which denied the edict contributed to New York\u2019s more than 6,600 nursing-home-resident deaths, was full of holes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWould this get published in an academic journal? No,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Yet Cuomo is as smug as ever: \u201cThe facts clearly demonstrate Trump was wrong from Day One,\u201d he bleated. \u201cThe numbers are in. Look at the number of bodies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, let\u2019s do that: The state\u2019s death toll is around 30,000 \u2014 the sixth-highest reported toll in the world and the highest per-capita toll. Cuomo has no right to criticize anyone.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
