Netflix had a handful of anime announcements to make at the Annecy Film Festival this week, including another project based on the work of comic writer Mark Millar. The Super Crooks <\/i><\/b>graphic novel by Mark Millar and Leinil Yu<\/b> is on the way as a Netflix Original with Carole & Tuesday <\/i><\/b>director Motonobu Hori<\/b>\u2014who also directed an episode of BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad <\/i><\/b>and worked as animator on a bunch of major projects\u2014at the helm.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The series<\/a> follows two-bit criminal Johnny Bolt as he tackles one last superpowered heist and assembles a team of the world’s greatest criminals to get the job done. Dai Sato <\/b>(Cowboy Bebop<\/i><\/b>) is on series composition, Takafumi Mitani <\/b>(animation director on My Hero Academia<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/a>) is handling character designs, and Stanislas Brunet <\/b>(mechanical design on Macross Delta<\/i><\/b>) is working on concept design for the BONES <\/b>production.<\/p>\n

As for other works from Millarworld, Netflix recently debuted the live-action\u00a0Jupiter’s Legacy\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>series, but it was canceled after one season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
