Roger Waters has revealed that Facebook honcho Mark Zuckerberg offered him big bucks to use Pink Floyd\u2019s classic 1979 anthem \u201cAnother Brick in the Wall, Part 2\u201d in an Instagram ad.<\/p>\n

However, the co-founding member of the iconic rock band turned the \u201clittle p\u2013k\u201d down flat \u2014 with a cantankerously foulmouthed touch.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt arrived this morning, with an offer for a huge, huge amount of money,\u201d the 77-year-old bassist and composer said at a recent pro-Julian Assange event, Rolling Stone reported<\/a>. \u201cAnd the answer is, \u2018F\u2013k you. No f\u2013in\u2019 way.’\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI only mention that because this is an insidious movement of them to take over absolutely everything. I will not be a party to this bull\u2014t, Zuckerberg.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer faced the prospect of his jams being used for promotional purposes.<\/p>\n

Pink Floyd\u2019s Roger Waters on Facebook guru Mark Zuckerberg<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n

However, way back in the mid-\u201970s, Waters didn\u2019t balk at providing the theme<\/a> song for Dole bananas as well as an ad for the French soft drink Gini<\/a>, according to Far Out Magazine<\/a>. Why? It helped make rising concert ticket prices cheaper for their fans. Still, the experience reportedly resulted in the band refusing to allow their music to be used going forward in any advertisements that weren\u2019t for a \u201cgood cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the Assange event last week, Waters read a heated letter stating his position on social media monopolies and manipulation. (Warning: The clip below features strong language.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWe feel that the core sentiment of this song is still so prevalent and so necessary today, which speaks to how timeless the work is,\u201d Rogers said, Insider reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He also claimed Zuck\u2019s company wanted to \u201cmake Facebook and Instagram more powerful than it already is \u2026 so that it can continue to censor all of us in this room and prevent this story about Julian Assange getting out into the general<\/a> public so the general public can go, \u2018What? No. No More.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The rock icon also took aim at Zuckerberg\u2019s original creation: His now rarely mentioned predecessor website, FaceMash, which let users vote on the attractiveness of female Harvard classmates.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow did this little p\u2014k who started out as \u2018she\u2019s pretty, we\u2019ll give her a four out of five, she\u2019s ugly, we\u2019ll give her a four out of five,\u2019 how did we give him any power?\u201d Waters spewed. \u201cAnd yet here he is, one of the most powerful idiots in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
